Company

Rebecca Keyser Houck Founder and Artistic Director
She is a native of Los Angeles, holds a B.A. in Dance from UCLA, and was a recipient of the Design for Sharing Scholarship. During her senior year, she choreographed and performed in Naked Closet, a duet addressing the issue of date rape, which was featured in Fem (L.A. Feminist NewsMagazine) in the article entitled, Choreographing One’s Identity. She has since used this piece to give lecture demonstrations to high school and college students to bring awareness of date rape and hopes to continue on this mission.
As a professional dancer in L.A., she joined bodytalk dance and Carol Solomon Dance Company. She performed throughout southern California, in Father/ Daughter Dances (Victoria Marks, choreographer) as well as Women’s Work (Arianne MacBean, choreographer). She choreographed for the production of StoryPeople directed by the M.Y.E. theater company and presented her own choreography at Highways Performance Space. She was the full-time Dance Director at Harvard-Westlake, a prestigious private school, and she taught dance throughout the Los Angeles area.
In 2004 she moved to Hoboken, NJ with her husband. Since being out here she has established herself in the fitness industry, as a well sought after yoga and Pilates instructor, a group fitness coordinator, and a fitness model. She has given lecture demonstrations at LaGuardia High School and Stevens Institute of Technology. She had promising opportunities with Parsons Dance, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Co. and David Dorfman Dance. In 2006, she founded Truth dance and premiered Set Free at the 411 Space @ Times Square Arts Center as part of the Artery Dance Showcase. In 2007, she gave birth and took a sabbatical. Since then, she has choreographed and performed in “The Burning of My Heart,” a collaborative performance piece with dance, poetry and percussion, at St. Mark’s historical church in West Orange, NJ. She also choreographed a piece with novice dancers as part of a community project for the Lamb of God Fellowship Gala. Though she has the tools necessary to build a successful dance company, it is only by the grace of God that she fulfills this calling on her life.
